Brian Deegan Fans Thrilled He’s Back In Truck At LOORRS Reno

Reno, NV

Brian Deegan was anxious to hit the track for rounds 11 and 12 of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS), at Wild West Motorsports Park in Sparks, NV. Not only does the track provide unique conditions for further development of the new NOS Energy Drink, Mickey Thompson Tires, Ford Raptor Pro-2 truck, but Reno is loaded with Deegan fans that were eager to see him battling on their track again.

“It’s great spending time with the fans in Reno,” says Deegan, “We see new fans all the time and a lot of familiar faces who come out every year; we signed a bunch of autographs this weekend. There are a lot of dirt bike people out here who have been Deegan and militia fans forever. Everyone was saying how stoked they were that we were back racing the truck and how they were bummed out when we missed a couple rounds of racing due to rally car.”
Brian Deegan always has time for the fans

Despite a few new truck bugs, Deegan gave the fans the action they were looking for. He was banging fenders up front in round 11 until a mechanical took him out, and a sticking throttle caused him to get up on two wheels in a few corners during the race in round 12. It’s all part of the game; you don’t win races unless you are on the edge and pushing the equipment to the limit.

“We had some good battles going,” said Deegan, “It was pretty aggressive; a lot of fender banging but I like it. Our new truck has been great from the start; we ran strong at Glen Helen. We are always trying new stuff to get faster and learn how to get the most out of the truck. You never really know what you have until you get on the track. Reno is different because we are at 9000 feet high. It throws off the gearing and torque convertor. We just need to put the laps in to get the reliability we had when we were winning everything.”

Brian Deegan has achieved many accomplishments in his life but none make him any prouder than being a great Dad. While he and the crew work to get a new truck in championship form, Daughter Hailie is right where she wants to be. The current Mod Kart points leader, Hailie was on the podium all weekend. She ran the fastest lap and finished 2nd place on Saturday and took the win on Sunday. “We focused on karting all week,” said Brian, “We practice together so I see how much she is getting faster. Her perfect lap times in Reno are proof of how hard she has been working. Hailie did really good this weekend.”

Brian and Hailie will be back at their home track, Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park in Lake Elsinore, CA. on Sep. 23rd and 24th for rounds 13 and 14. Billed as the “Fight Under The Lights” they will be racing into the night at Lake Elsinore.

Brian Deegan Returns To The LOORRS Series With A Vengeance

San Bernardino, CA

Brian Deegan is running two different racing series this season, the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS), and the Global Rallycross series (GRC). He is eager to add a Rallycross title to his long list of racing championships, so when scheduling conflicts between the two series arose; he chose to forgo LOORRS race weekends in Tooele, Utah and Ensenada, Baja Mexico. Needless to say, he was very anxious to get back behind the wheel of his NOS Energy Drink, Mickey Thompson Tires, Ford Raptor Pro-2, for LOORRS rounds 9 and 10 under the lights at Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernardino, California.

Deegan might have been absent for a few rounds, but it didn’t mean he wasn’t hard at work looking for more speed. He rolled the dice during the break, and made several changes he felt would pay off. With time for only a brief test session before Glen Helen, the changes would have to be proven in the heat of competition.

It did not take long for the results of his efforts to become apparent. In the first practice session on Friday, Deegan was second fastest. During qualifying, he lost a driveshaft after only two laps. His best time was still fast enough on those two laps to qualify fourth fastest.

During the race, he methodically picked off spot after spot to move up into the second position. After a caution flag that bunched up the field, he dogged leader Rob MacCachren for three laps to the finish, but was unable to make a pass for the lead stick. He kept his consecutive podium streak alive, at five in a row, and posted the fastest time of the race on lap 15.

Deegan is usually running for the championship. He has won LOORRS championships in 2009, two in 2011, in 2012, 2013, and 2014. This season, his focus is different. He is not in the championship hunt, which means he can forget about counting points and focus on winning. It makes him even more dangerous to the competition.

Brian Deegan took home the fastest lap trophy at Glen Helen Raceway's Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing event.

During round 10 on Sunday night, he made a spectacular pass on Bryce Menzies. The back stretch leading into the final turn at Glen Helen has a huge table-top jump. Deegan hit it wide open, launching him past Menzies like he was shot out of a cannon. It made the entire crowd take notice and buzz with excitement.

After setting the fastest time of the race again, his run to the front was cut short on lap 11 when his power steering went out, sending him into a concrete barrier. His truck was broken but his will is now stronger than ever. He was very satisfied with the performance of his NOS Energy Drink Pro-2, and is looking forward to his next rounds of LOORRS racing on August 13th and 14th at Wild West Motorsports Park in Sparks, NV. Constantly on the move, he heads to RFK stadium in Washington, DC for Rallycross racing this weekend.

Sara Price to Become the First Female Driver in Stadium SUPER Trucks

Sara Price testing out her Stadium Super TruckLos Angeles, Calif. (July 13, 2016) – Sara Price, 23, a successful multi-championship Professional Motocross and UTV racer from Southern California will be the first woman to compete in the SPEED Energy Stadium SUPER Trucks Presented by TRAXXAS Series. BitTorrent Inc. has been supporting Sara in the buildup to this event.

Price will make her debut during the Honda Indy Toronto July 15-17 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Hitting speeds of upwards of 140 mph, and launching over 20 feet in the air, the identically prepared 650 hp Stadium SUPER Trucks offer Price a unique opportunity to prove herself in a discipline dominated by men.

Sara has continuously been breaking down barriers in motorsports. She won over 17 national championships in motocross and medaled in the X-Games before making the switch to four wheels, winning several Off-Road and Time Attack racing championships.

She’s determined not only to be the first woman to start in Stadium Super Trucks, but to contend for a spot on the podium:

“I’m extremely excited to be transitioning into the SST Series. When Robby Gordon called me 2 years ago saying I need to get into one of his Stadium SUPER Trucks, I just put my head down and started getting to work. SST is where I want to be, and I’m very pumped to be competing in the same exact truck as the other competitors, it’s truly a dream come true.”

When asked about Sara’s involvement in Stadium SUPER Trucks, Robby Gordon; Series President; Former NASCAR and IndyCar Winner and Off-Road Champion commented.

“Sure there has been other women whom have competed in motorsports history, but it is not too often you are able find the complete package. Sara has the talent, beauty, and sense of drive, to continue writing Stadium SUPER Trucks history well into the future, including becoming the first female SST winner and push to become a Champion.”

Sara is supported by BitTorrent Inc., a media company dedicated to empowering radical voices in sports, music, film, and more. Their global consumer media platform gives athletes and brands outside the mainstream exposure to over 200 million fans.

Jeremy Johnson, co-CEO of BitTorrent, says: “BitTorrent is incredibly excited to be supporting Sara. We’re dedicated to supporting the individuals in action sports who break the traditional mold and bringing their stories to the world.”

ABOUT SPEED ENERGY STADIUM SUPER TRUCKS PRESENTED BY TRAXXAS

Influenced by the former Mickey Thompson Stadium Off-Road Racing Series, where drivers such as Gordon, Casey Mears and six-time NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson got their start, Gordon created SST in response to the public’s overwhelming interest in trucks and off-road racing. His plan to re-launch the former stadium series has led to exciting racing on both asphalt and dirt, while producing one of the most extreme forms of action sports today.

Other than the trucks launching 20 feet in the air covering distances more than 150 feet, what sets the SST program apart from other series is the fact that all the SST trucks are identically prepared and delivered to drivers in race-ready condition. Race winners are decided by driver skill rather than individual team engineering and budgets. Drivers and their personal mechanics are assigned specific SST mechanics who together tune and make minor adjustments to the 650-horsepower trucks.

Rawlin McGhie Takes First Place in Arizona Dirt Riot Race

Dirt Riot SW Series Rd 2 Race Recap

McGhie Offroad Racing LogoPre-Running/Qualifying

The McGhie Offroad team arrived in Arizona two days before the race. During our 12+ hour drive, we received news that some very experienced racers would be competing in our class; We knew that how we chose to prepare would make or break our race. Our first stop was to see Jason Cobb [KC HiLites] to install the newly released Pro6! Once it got dark, he expertly adjusted all the lights on the car to ensure maximum visibility for us during our race.

Our second stop was to see Brian Turner [ADS Racing Shocks]. We met Brian in the desert to fine tune the suspension. Brian immediately knew the front coil overs needed re-valving, which he made quick work of. In no time, Brian had the car practically floating.

Race Day

Our race began just before dark. Within the first lap, we passed one of the race leaders who was pulled over, attempting a fix on their car. Shortly after the pass, we received news from our pit that the only remaining car in front of us was rolled over in a rock section.

We spent laps 2-4 putting roughly a 2 minute lead on the field. As we pulled into our pit for fuel at the end of lap 5, our team realized we had a leaking oil cooler line. The leaking line was fixed as quickly as possible and we pulled out of the pit in 2nd place. We pushed our pace to catch the leader – almost rolling out in the desert in the process! Luckily, we were able to save it and found out that the car in front of us had pulled off the track. We held our lead all the way to the finish line and pulled off a first place finish in the 4400 class!
