Saturday Sept. 16th – Race Day: Derek & the guys proved they were ready to go by taking 2nd in qualifying! “It helps a bunch to be at the front of the pack when your racing mainly in trees/woods. It can be challenging to get around other competitors”, Derek West stated. So later that afternoon once all the other classes ran it was time for the 4400 class to race. He ran great with little issues & pushed the car to it’s limits to stay at the front of the pack. It was a good race with Derek taking 2nd place with Clay Gilstrap taking 1st place. Overall it was a fun race! A great end to the East coast Ultra 4 series for 2016.

Brian Deegan Wins Big For His Hometown Fans

Lake Elsinore, CA

Brian Deegan was more than happy to give fans what they wanted at rounds 13 and 14 of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series at Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park in Lake Elsinore, Ca. Deegan has a huge fan following wherever he goes, but the fans in Lake Elsinore take special pride in watching their home town champion run out front. Deegan lives right down the road from the track and on two wheels and four, has been setting the dirt on fire there for many years.

Deegan and the crew had the NOS Energy Drink, Mickey Thompson Tires, Ford Raptor Pro-2 ready to rock, right out of the trailer. They were fastest in practice session 2 on Thursday, and followed it up with a second place qualifying time on Friday.

During Friday night’s round 13, Deegan jumped out to the early lead and battled back and forth with Rob Mac for the win. The two were swapping the lead by only inches, running side by side, on each lap. It was one of the most exciting races of the season. Deegan finished on the box in second; great results but not enough for the multi-time champion.

On Saturday, Deegan was even quicker; qualifying in the number one spot. At the drop of the green flag, he was out front again. Spurred on by the fans who packed the stands to capacity, and Daughter Hailee’s second place podium which extends her points lead in Modified Kart, Deegan was putting on a demonstration of precision driving. His NOS Energy Drink, Ford was hooked up and it became obvious to everyone that he was not going to be beaten. The standing room only crowd went nuts when he took the checkered flag.

“Winning is always our number one goal,” said Deegan, “Doing it at my hometown track in front of all my friends is rad. MyMickey Thompson Tires worked great; my crew did an amazing job. We’ve been putting in such hard work; it’s great to get the win for NOS Energy Drink!

Deegan and his team have huge momentum heading to the final race of the season October 22nd and 23rd at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park in Chandler, AZ. Look for the NOS Energy Drink, Mickey Thompson Tires, Ford Raptor Pro-2 to be right back on the rev limiter in the final rounds.

Brian Deegan Fans Thrilled He’s Back In Truck At LOORRS Reno

Reno, NV

Brian Deegan was anxious to hit the track for rounds 11 and 12 of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS), at Wild West Motorsports Park in Sparks, NV. Not only does the track provide unique conditions for further development of the new NOS Energy Drink, Mickey Thompson Tires, Ford Raptor Pro-2 truck, but Reno is loaded with Deegan fans that were eager to see him battling on their track again.

Brian Deegan leading the pack in Reno

“It’s great spending time with the fans in Reno,” says Deegan, “We see new fans all the time and a lot of familiar faces who come out every year; we signed a bunch of autographs this weekend. There are a lot of dirt bike people out here who have been Deegan and militia fans forever. Everyone was saying how stoked they were that we were back racing the truck and how they were bummed out when we missed a couple rounds of racing due to rally car.”
Brian Deegan always has time for the fans

Despite a few new truck bugs, Deegan gave the fans the action they were looking for. He was banging fenders up front in round 11 until a mechanical took him out, and a sticking throttle caused him to get up on two wheels in a few corners during the race in round 12. It’s all part of the game; you don’t win races unless you are on the edge and pushing the equipment to the limit.

Deegan hitting the table top during the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing series in Reno

“We had some good battles going,” said Deegan, “It was pretty aggressive; a lot of fender banging but I like it. Our new truck has been great from the start; we ran strong at Glen Helen. We are always trying new stuff to get faster and learn how to get the most out of the truck. You never really know what you have until you get on the track. Reno is different because we are at 9000 feet high. It throws off the gearing and torque convertor. We just need to put the laps in to get the reliability we had when we were winning everything.”

Deegan hitting the downhill section in Reno

Brian Deegan has achieved many accomplishments in his life but none make him any prouder than being a great Dad. While he and the crew work to get a new truck in championship form, Daughter Hailie is right where she wants to be. The current Mod Kart points leader, Hailie was on the podium all weekend. She ran the fastest lap and finished 2nd place on Saturday and took the win on Sunday. “We focused on karting all week,” said Brian, “We practice together so I see how much she is getting faster. Her perfect lap times in Reno are proof of how hard she has been working. Hailie did really good this weekend.”

Brian and Hailie will be back at their home track, Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park in Lake Elsinore, CA. on Sep. 23rd and 24th for rounds 13 and 14. Billed as the “Fight Under The Lights” they will be racing into the night at Lake Elsinore.
