PRP Seats introduces the NEW XC Suspension Seat

Temcula, CA – PRP Seats introduces the XC Suspension Seat, it’s newest model for the Polaris RZR and additional side by side models.

“It’s been almost 2 years since the introduction of our best-selling GT/S.E. so we thought it was time for something new.” Explained Jason DeArmond, Marketing Manager for PRP Seats. “When we started on the idea of designing a new seat, we found customers were looking for more color options in our seats but they still want a clean—sometimes subtle—look. Trail models of sport UTVs have also increased in popularity. More of those riders tend to use stock seat belts but still need good lateral leg support to hold them in tight. With all of this in mind, we came up with the XC Suspension Seat.”

The XC features an all new frame and design with 5 color options for additional customization. The contoured sides and open hip bolsters allow for use of the stock seat belts while the front of the bolster is raised up for additional lateral containment. As with all of PRP’s seats, the XC bolts directly on to the RZR stock seat base and is compatible with the stock RZR slider. Mounts are available for Can-Am and Wildcat models.

For additional information, contact Jason DeArmond at 1.800.317.6253 x107 or email [email protected].

PRP Seats Core Values

Over the past several years, PRP Seats has experienced incredible growth. So much that we have earned position 765 on the 2015 Inc. 5000; a list of the 5000 fastest growing companies in the US. We could not have achieved this without the group of dedicated and hard working individuals we have today. These individuals have worked long days and weekends in a constantly changing environment. Through new buildings, new hires, new machinery, new products, and constant surprises, our PRP family has built a market leader with an excellent reputation. To keep us on this upward path, we have worked to develop a list of core values with the intent of guiding us as we continue to grow. These core values will define our culture, our brand, and our future strategy. They will help to keep all of us on the same page by defining clear expectations. All employees—current and new—will be expected to reflect these values when interacting with each other, vendors, and customers. We don’t expect perfection, just a commitment to improving. As we continue to grow, the way we do things may change but our core values should always direct how we do them.

The first draft of our core values is below. We’ve tried to keep them simple and there may be some adjustments before we set them in stone (we welcome everyone’s feedback), but we believe these values reflect PRP Seats, not just as we are, but also as we want to be.

    1. Be the Best.
We want the best people, processes, and products we can possibly produce. Being the best requires constant change. We don’t want to do things the way they have always been done. Ask yourself, “Is this the best I can do? Is this the best product I can produce? What more can I do?” Remember, the VCR used to be the best. “The Best” is a moving target and we must continually change and keep the competition guessing.
    2. Be Family Friendly.
We are a family building products that help families have fun together. We care about and celebrate those families and ours. Families stick together, stand up for each other, and share responsibility. Families are also diverse, sometimes crazy and often a little weird. We embrace those differences as they help make us better.
    3. Have Fun.
Our family works together as a team to provide a custom product with a quick turnaround and we should have fun doing it. In and out of the office. If we can’t have fun making “toys” we’re doing something wrong. We should never take ourselves too seriously.
    4. Listen to customers and employees.
Customer requests and insights drive our products. We’re never too busy to take a call or hear a customer out. We strive to understand and see things from the customer’s point of view. No customer leaves unhappy; we listen with the intent of understanding the “real” issue and do whatever it takes to make them happy.Employee’s ideas drive our efficiency and production. We hire people who have the ability to teach us something and make us better. Everyone at PRP Seats has the potential to better themselves and those around them.
    5. Communicate clearly and honestly.
Be Clear! Be Honest! Set the Customers’ expectations and be sure we can over-deliver. Be clear with your coworkers and management about your capabilities and what you need to get the job done. Good communication builds trust, better relationships, and the ability to accomplish more than you can do on your own. If something goes wrong or you make a mistake, alert your customer, co-worker or manager immediately. Take personal responsibility and do your best to make it right. People often don’t care who made the mistake or why, just that it is getting fixed.
    6. Be Humble.
No matter how big or popular we get, we will always have the understanding we did not get there by ourselves. A lot of people and companies helped us. We treat them all with respect and humility. We celebrate successes and accomplishments with excitement, not arrogance.

Ideally, everything we do at PRP Seats should reflect our core values. While we’re not perfect, we strive to be better and we encourage everyone to do the same. Doors are open and we’re here to listen. If you have a constructive idea or a way to make PRP Seats better we encourage you to approach whoever you feel is necessary.

Truck Development Continues For Brian Deegan At LOORRS Reno

Reno, NV

You don’t become a six time champion by playing it safe. Every time Brian Deegan throws his truck into a corner, there is risk involved. For someone who makes his living on the edge of control, it’s hard to imagine taking on an even greater challenge, but that’s what defending Pro-2 champion Brian Deegan has done this season. Not only has he ventured into the Pro-4 class but he has also made tweaks to his championship winning Rockstar Energy / Makita Power Tools / Ford Pro-2 in a quest for more speed. The innovations he has implemented have shown glimpses of greatness but teething problems have continued to nag him. When he landed in Reno for rounds 13 and 14 of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series, the transmission problem experienced in Estero Beach was back.

Brian Deegan racing Pro 2 in Reno, NV

Unable to run the pace he is accustomed to, Deegan had to finesse both trucks to get them to live. With the new Pro-4 truck, every new track they race on is a learning experience; set-up notes are critical. Instead of getting good data, the crew had to put out fires. The bright spot was they were very fast in qualifying. When Deegan did open it up, he was quick. In round 13 he qualified second fastest.

Brian Deegan racing Pro 4 in Reno, NV

In a plan to save the truck and get decent starting positions in round 14, they laid back during the first half of qualifying. Instead of hitting the track from the start, they waited until the track got worked in. Deegan ran only three laps of qualifying in the Pro-4, two in the Pro-2. He was second fastest again in the Pro-2. He bombed those two laps but the strain on the driveline meant the crew had to change the transmission before the race started.

Brian Deegan hitting the table top in Reno, NV

Deegan and the crew have overcome plenty of challenges; their latest struggle doesn’t faze them a bit. They adjusted to the situation in Reno and put in the best finishes they could achieve. To the casual observer Deegan’s performance was middle of the pack. It’s only when you know of the mechanical issues behind the scenes that you appreciate the finesse and truck control he is capable of. Mechanical issues can become Voodoo, but as soon as the final pieces fall into place, you can expect Brian Deegan to be back out front, leading the way.

Brian Deegan airing in Reno, NV

The next race will be Sep 18 – 19 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Las Vegas, NV. There are precious few rounds left in the series. A points championship is not in their grasp but the opportunity to experiment with both trucks can lead to some incredible breakthroughs. There is plenty of excitement on the horizon.

The Nevada Desert wins at Vegas to Reno!

Phoenix, AZ

Best in the Desert president, Casey Folks announced that this was going to be one tough race to finish and for rookie stand out Joshua Cobb it marked the low point of his season. The KC HiLiTES car shot out of the gate and by the 15 mile nark had put a few minutes on the field. Running at 80% the team was cruising along until a rock in heavy dust made a mess of a rear tire. “It was totally my fault,” said Jason Cobb. “We had caught a TrophyLite and a class 3000 truck and I was trying to pass them both when I hit the rock in the dust. Everything started to go downhill from there”, he finished. Losing the engine by Pit#3 was the straw that broke the teams back and sent them home.

Joshua Cobb racing Vegas to Reno

“This was a huge setback for our team,” said Joshua Cobb. “It is very frustrating because we had a new car. We replaced almost everything during the prep and we felt like this would be the best car we had all year. Instead, we will leave here losing the points lead and licking our wounds. No doubt this one hurts and we will have to bring our ‘A’ game to the rest of the races. We are going to need some help as well if we want to bring this championship home, I feel really bad for our sponsors and team as they gave us the best to finish first,” he added.

Next up for the young team is the Best in the Desert, Blue Water Challenge in Parker, AZ in early October. Mile for mile it is the roughest race of the year and the unique 2 day race format makes it a crowd favorite.

Brian Deegan Gets Taste Of Baja At Estero Beach

Ensenada, Baja California Mexico

In a first for the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS), Brian Deegan and his fellow racers travelled to Baja Mexico for the Rockstar Energy Battle South Of The Border at the Baja International Short Course track in Estero Beach. The unique event was made possible by a lot of hard work put in by LOORRS, Rockstar Energy, and the Baja based Papas & Beer team of Rodrigo Ampudia & family. The enthusiasm of race fans in Baja is legendary. Brian Deegan was anxious to give them a good show in his #38 Rockstar Energy / Makita Power Tools / Ford Pro-4 and Pro-2 trucks; he did not disappoint them.

Brian Deegan getting race ready.

The Baja International Short Course track in Estero Beach is a brand new track and it showed. Getting a track into shape takes time. The first event will always expose areas that need to be addressed. In Estero Beach, it was the sandy soil. The track got loose; causing a lot of roost behind the trucks and some big holes. It looked more like the Baja 1000 than a short course race. It was spectacular for the fans but blinding for the drivers.

Deegan got a late start learning the track. An unavoidable scheduling conflict forced him to miss practice on Friday. That left him only a handful of laps before starting the main events on Saturday. Deegan might have gotten a slow start, but he was fast on the track. Pro-2 was first up; he started 6th but chipped away at the field as the laps went by. His rivals started on the front row and ran first and second all race. Deegan had to fight through the carnage in rough conditions. Despite the challenge, he made his way to the front to grab another podium; a solid 3rd place finish.

Brian Deegan during Pro 2 practice in Ensenada

During qualifying for the Pro-4 race, Deegan made his presence known and made some new fans at the same time. In a display of his determination, he rolled his Rockstar Energy Makita Power Tools Ford, landed on the Wheels, and kept going. He went on to run the second fastest time. During the race he was right back at it. The fans gasped as he got up on two wheels in turn 2. He was able to bring it back down on all 4 and continue the race. Battling tough track conditions and contact from another truck, Deegan got to the finish in 5th.Brian Deegan during Pro 4 practice in Ensenada

On Sunday, Deegan was second fastest again. This time, it was in the Rockstar Energy Makita Power Tools Ford Pro-2.  After the inversion, he was sent back to the third row. The Lucas Oil Series draws a number to determine the inversion. If the draw results in a zero, the qualifying position does not change. If a higher number is drawn, they invert, or move back the top qualifiers the number of spots that correspond to the number drawn. If the number is 5, they invert the top 5. The first qualifier starts 5th; the 5th fastest starts first. It’s a way to introduce some randomness for starting position and generates excitement in the fans. It can punish a driver or reward him; it varies. Despite his fast qualifying run, Deegan was inverted to the middle of the pack. He fought valiantly but traffic and the lack of vision had him penned in during the race. He finished 6th.

Brian Deegan racing Pro 2 in Ensenada

The final race of the weekend would be the Pro-4’s. Deegan had proved his speed all weekend, but during qualifying in the Rockstar Energy Makita Power Tools Ford Pro-4, the truck was off its normal pace. He qualified 7th fastest. He got a great start when the green flag dropped, picking off a couple spots. As the laps clicked off, the issue in qualifying re-emerged; he was losing forward drive.

Brian Deegan in the pack in Ensenada

He used every bit of experience and skill to stay in the hunt over the next couple of laps. A late caution set up a green/white/checkers finish. The re-start was not good to Deegan’s transmission. He had another podium in his sights but dropped to 6th place at the finish.

Brian Deegan airing his 2015 Pro 4 truck in Ensenada

“It was a fun race,” said Deegan, “The energy from the fans was incredible. It’s great that the Lucas Oil Series is expanding into new tracks; it was really unique racing right next to the Pacific Ocean. The track was big and very fast. It was one of the toughest races I have done but it’s good to be challenged. I can’t wait to take what we learned and have another crack at it.”

Team PRP driver, Brian Deegan

Brian Deegan will be racing next in rounds 13 and 14 on Aug 22 – 23 at Wild West Motorsports Park in Sparks, Nevada. The Sparks, Nevada track is known for its huge elevation changes that test the driver’s brakes and their nerves.
